What exactly are YouTube Shorts?

YouTube announced in September 2020 that it would launch a short-form video feature called YouTube shorts.

YouTube Shorts debuted in India before expanding to the United States and 26 other countries by March 2021.

This feature can be found in the'shorts' tab of the YouTube app on your mobile device. On desktop, there is a shorts section on the homepage and in the left navigation:

YouTube Shorts and long-form videos are displayed together on the YouTube Search Results page.
